What are backup codes?
Backup codes are one-time codes you can use to sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. BlueFolder does not store a named file on your computer and does not keep a copy of the plain codes after they are shown. You must save them yourself (for example copy, download the text file when offered, or store them in a password manager).
Lost your codes?
If you can still sign in with a normal 6-digit code from your authenticator app:
When two-factor authentication is available sign in with your authenticator application, open your account Security Settings and use Regenerate backup codes. Enter your current password when prompted. Your old codes stop working as soon as you generate a new set. Save the new codes immediately.
Locked out (no authenticator and no codes)?
Contact your company’s BlueFolder administrator or your internal IT/support. They can follow your organization’s process (for example another admin may reset MFA for your user in the Admin Tool, depending on permissions and policy).
Regenerating codes
Regenerating creates a full new set and invalidates all previous backup codes. Treat the new list like the first time: save it in a safe place right away.
