Release Notes - 2026.013

This release focused on performance and new features, backed by a solid round of bug fixes. On the feature side, reporting got several requested additions (new columns across Invoices, Payments, and Customers), along with much more flexible date filtering in Smart Lists and a new Billing Status column on the Service Request List. Larger accounts should also notice a real difference in speed: the Equipment picker, Equipment list, Children tab, Dashboard activity feed, and Service Requests report were all lagging for bigger customers, and each of those is now noticeably faster. Rounding things out, we fixed a batch of smaller issues (Equipment location grouping and parent-item saves, layout and contact-picker problems on Recurring Jobs, clearer QuickBooks error messages, and a fix so replying to an emailed invoice no longer creates a duplicate ticket).

Features

Reporting

  • New Invoices report columns: The Invoices dataset in Report Builder now offers Account Manager, Service Managers, Technicians, and Work Order number columns, so you can see who's assigned and which job an invoice belongs to without leaving the report.
  • New Payment List column: The Payment List page (Billing > Payments) now has a Customer column showing the customer name(s) for each payment.
  • New Customer custom report columns: The Customers dataset in our Custom Report Builder now offers Tax Rate and Tax Agency columns.

Service Request List & Smart Lists

  • Billing Status column: The Service Request List's "Customize List Options" dialog now has a Billing Status checkbox, so you can add it as a column on the list.
  • Smarter date filters: Custom date fields can now be filtered in Smart Lists the same flexible way Due Date already works (Today, This Week, This Month, This Quarter, This Year, and more), instead of only "equals" or "contains." The Due Date filter itself also gained This Quarter and This Year as new options.

Equipment

  • The work order New Equipment Add now supports parent items: The "Quick Add" equipment page (launched from a Service Request) now includes the same parent-item picker as the main Equipment Edit page, for accounts with equipment hierarchy enabled.

Attachments

  • More roles can manage Work Order attachments: Bookkeeper, Sales, and Scheduler roles can now delete Work Order attachments (previously restricted to Administrators), on both the main app and mobile.

Account Sign-In

  • Easier MFA setup with Microsoft Authenticator: Added a one-tap "Open in your authenticator app" button to the MFA setup screen, plus expanded guidance for Microsoft Authenticator users on choosing the appropriate account type.

Performance Fixes

Reporting

  • Large report exports: Exporting a large custom report to CSV or Excel, or loading a large report's view, could time out because nothing was sent to your browser until the entire report finished building. We have enhanced this functionality by streaming your data progressively, which should eliminate timeout errors on large reports.

Equipment

  • Faster Equipment picker: Fixed the Equipment picker (used when linking equipment to a ticket) timing out for accounts with a lot of equipment.
  • Faster Equipment list API: The Equipment list endpoint used by our API/integrations now streams its response and defaults to a bounded date range for large accounts, avoiding memory/timeout issues on very large requests.
  • Faster Children tab: The Children tab on a parent Equipment item could take well over a minute to load, or time out, for accounts with a large equipment library. It has now been optimized to load the data more efficiently.

Dashboard & Reports

  • Faster Recent Activity: The Dashboard's "Recent Activity" feed was timing out for larger accounts with a lot of history. We have added a smarter database lookup to speed up this component.
  • Faster Assigned To lookups: The Service Requests report's Assigned To columns now load noticeably faster for larger accounts.

Bugs

Equipment

  • Parent equipment selection: Fixed an issue where picking a parent item via the equipment parent search box could silently fail to save if that parent wasn't among the first 100 items loaded into the dropdown. Fixed on both the main app and mobile.

Recurring Jobs

  • Layout fix: Fixed a distorted Location/Contact section when creating or editing a Recurring Job.
  • Contact picker fix: Fixed the Contact picker on Recurring Jobs failing to load results once a Service Location was selected.

Reporting

  • Tax Rate truncation fix: Fixed the existing Tax Rate column on Contracts/Invoices reports, which was truncating values (e.g. showing 0.08 instead of 0.0825) and could show the wrong agency name.
  • Modernized report pages: The Invoice A/R Aging Detail, Invoices Open, Work Order Deposits and Balance, and grouped ("view") reports now run on an updated reporting engine. They look and work the same, aside from two small changes: the export options are now Excel and CSV only (the older legacy options have been removed).

QuickBooks Online

  • Clearer sync error messages: Several QuickBooks Online sync errors now explain what went wrong in plain language instead of a generic or confusing technical message, including invoice email-address issues and a specific item/parent setup mismatch.

Invoicing

  • Emailed invoice replies: If a customer replied to an emailed invoice, BlueFolder was creating a new ticket from that reply. Replies are now logged on the invoice itself and, when the invoice is tied to a single work order with email-to-comment enabled, also posted there as a comment.

Attachments

  • Mobile attachment viewer fix: Fixed an issue on mobile where tapping an attachment without a thumbnail image wouldn't open the photo viewer.

Minor fixes, improvements, and enhancements

This release also includes an extended round of behind-the-scenes platform modernization (updating core shared application code, database connectivity, and email-template rendering). It also includes a couple of routine security fixes, third-party library updates, and other routine maintenance and stability improvements.
